Metta World Peace on NBA Not Fining Gerald Wallace: ‘Totally Ridiculous’

After the win over the Brooklyn Nets on Tuesday, Metta World Peace hoped that the league would fine forward Reggie Evans and Gerald Wallace for flopping. Evans’ flops were blatant and most believed a fine was forthcoming as it turned out to be, but Wallace slipped under the radar with multiple flops according to World Peace via L.A. Times:

“Did you see those two flops from Gerald Wallace? C’mon now. That’s ridiculous,” World Peace said Wednesday. “In one possession, he flopped twice and just fell. It was crazy. It’s like, ‘Wow, what is that?’ It’s really funny, but it’s like, really, I don’t even know what to think anymore, to tell you the truth. It’s ridiculous. Totally ridiculous.”

World Peace believes the league made the right move by making Evans the first player to be fined for flopping, but dropped the ball without Wallace getting the same treatment.

Although the league neglected to fine Wallace, the NBA is making good on their promise to crackdown on flopping this season with one of the worst floppers in the league being the first to cough up $5,000 for trying to trick referees into making calls in their favor.

It’ll be interesting to see if the league continues to lay down the law in an effort to rid flopping from the NBA. World Peace believes Wallace got away without even a warning for his perceived flops, but it’s a good sign to see Evans feel the impact with his wallet a little lighter.
