Mike D’Antoni Discusses Jordan Farmar’s First Game Back

Mike D'AntoniThe Los Angeles Lakers finally had a true point guard in the lineup on Christmas as Jordan Farmar returned from his hamstring injury.

In the Lakers’ Christmas Day loss to the Miami Heat, Farmar played in 32 minutes and was able to help the flow and timing of the offense. Despite being outmatched by the Heat, the Lakers put up a great fight and had a chance to win the game down the stretch.

Los Angeles eventually fell to the defending champions, 101-95, but won over fans with the effort and hustle it showed throughout the match. After the game, coach Mike D’Antoni spoke to the media and talked about Farmar’s first game back.

The Lakers will still be without Kobe Bryant, Steve Nash and Steve Blake for quite some time, meaning Farmar will be the primary playmaker. Although the team did not get the win over the Heat, Farmar was effective on the offensive end and helped stabilize the court. D’Antoni was in dire need of a point guard and luckily he has a very capable one back in the lineup.
