Mitch Kupchak Looking to Make Big Deal

The Los Angeles Lakers have not yet added key pieces to their roster, and the only major move the front-office has made is sending away Lamar Odom. After the block-buster trade for Chris Paul died down, the Lakers quickly traded Odom into the Dallas Mavericks’s trade exception, which caused major uproar.

Several Lakers players have expressed anger with the front-office’s move, but General Manger Mitch Kupchak assured players and fans that he is looking to make ‘splash’ in this off-season.

Kevin Ding- OC Register “We are pursuing big deals right now,” Kupchak said.

Kupchak added that the Lakers are looking at trades that don’t involve Dwight Howard or Chris Paul. Although their goal is to still land those superstars, the team could also acquire other less well-known players.  “There’s several big deals out there that we’re still pursuing,” said Kupchak.

The Lakers need to change their roster if they want to return to basketball immortality. Their sweep last year from the hands of the Dallas Mavericks showed the front office that this team needs more youth and explosion to make it back to the Finals.
