Rumors surrounding the NBA Draft always ramp up around this time of year as certain teams fall in love with players and want to do whatever it takes to get them.

One of the ongoing stories this year is the Sacramento Kings infatuation with Kentucky point guard De’Aaron Fox. The Kings have a huge hole at point guard, and Fox seems like the perfect fit next to Buddy Hield.

There is no guarantee, however, that Fox falls to the fifth overall pick. Because of that, the Kings are reportedly considering packaging both of their top-10 picks to move up, according to ESPN’s Chad Ford:

There’s talk inside the organization about combining picks Nos. 5 and 10 to move up in the draft to secure Fox. If they found a taker, that would be a high price to pay to move up two to three spots.

As Ford notes, that would be a pretty steep price to pay to move up into the top-three. If they felt Fox, or even Lonzo Ball, was worth it could be the right move in their eyes.

They would definitely have to get into the top three to guarantee themselves their player which would mean a deal with either the Los Angeles Lakers or the Philadelphia 76ers.

The Sixers would make a lot of sense as they have been linked to Fox’s backcourt partner Malik Monk for some time. While Monk would be a reach at no. 3, he would be perfect at no. 5.

Likewise, the Lakers could also be open to moving down if they believe they can get their target at No. 5 and they would receive another top-10 pick to boot.

Of course, this is all speculation until a move gets made. Until then, fans will just have to wait until the draft takes place on June 22.
