Former Los Angeles Lakers forward Adam Morrison has finally played his way back onto an NBA roster after signing a one-year deal with the Portland Trail Blazers according to ESPN.com:
“Former Gonzaga star Adam Morrison has signed a one-year deal for the league minimum with the Portland Trail Blazers, according to his agent.”

Perhaps Morrison’s biggest selling point for the Blazers was his performance in the NBA Summer League for the Los Angeles Clippers. Morrison was on his game during his time in Las Vegas, Nevada for the Clippers, lighting up the scoreboards on a nightly basis averaging 20.0 points and 5.0 rebounds a night in five games.
Along with showing signs of the past with his scoring average, Morrison was also extremely efficient shooting the basketball. In the five games he played for the Clippers, Morrison shot 55 percent from the floor and 61 percent from beyond the arc.
Needless to say, Morrison turned a lot of heads in Las Vegas and appeared to be on his way to an NBA comeback. Although no teams were initially showing interest in the two-time NBA champion, the Blazers ultimately took the gamble on the 27-year-old sharpshooter.
Morrison will be one of few new faces for the Blazers next season as they begin to rebuild around All-Star forward LaMarcus Aldridge and promising rookie point guard Damian Lillard.
Ironically enough, Morrison will make his debut with the Blazers against the Lakers on October 10 in their first pre-season game. This will be the second pre-season game for the Lakers with the first coming against the Golden State Warriors on October 7.
