During his six seasons with the Los Angeles Lakers, Sasha Vujacic was Kobe Bryant’s primary backup. While Vujacic won two championships in three consecutive NBA Finals appearances, he has only appeared in 58 games since being traded during the 2010-11 season.

— What will Kobe Bryant make this season? Find out here! —

Outside of a two-game stint with the Los Angeles Clippers during the 2013-14 season, the two-time champion has played professionally overseas. According to Shams Charania of Real GM, Vujacic will be reuniting with Phil Jackson and Derek Fisher as a member of the New York Knicks:

The New York Knicks have reached agreement on a one-year deal with free agent guard Sasha Vujacic, league sources tell RealGM.

After finishing with the second worst record this past season, the Knicks drafted Kristaps Porzingis and Jerian Grant. Along with the two prospects, Jackson and company also signed Robin Lopez, Arron Afflalo, Kyle O’Quinn and Derrick Williams in free agency.

With another former member of the Lakers joining the Knicks, it will be interesting to see which team is able to rebuild themselves into contenders first. Although the Lakers did not sign a superstar free agent, they have veterans that will help the young core of D’Angelo Russell, Julius Randle and Jordan Clarkson.
