In perhaps the most unusual story of the 2014 off-season so far, the Brooklyn Nets gave permission to the Milwaukee Bucks to interview their head coach, Jason Kidd.

On Saturday, it was revealed Kidd wanted more control of the Nets and the front office was not willing to give him that power after one season. Now, Kidd will become the head coach of the Milwaukee Bucks for two second round picks according to ESPN’s Chris Broussard:

Despite a poor start to last season, Kidd was able to lead the Nets into the playoffs where they eventually lost to the Miami Heat in the Eastern conference semi-finals. With the Nets needing a new coach, there are four main candidates according to ESPN’s Marc Stein:

Lionel Hollins, George Karl and Mark Jackson also candidates in Brooklyn. And Messina … who has deep ties to Nets owner Mikhail Prokhorov

With that being said, Lionel Hollins still remains the front runner for the vacant coaching position. While Hollins is in the running for the Los Angeles Lakers’ job, it appears the team is leaning toward hiring Byron Scott after multiple interviews.
