After the win against the Thunder, where Kobe played Lakers facilitator with a total 14 assists, there was much to talk about. Kobe has hit many thresholds in his career, but that win set him in 36th place before Michael Jordan on the NBA’s all-time assist chart: 5,644 (Kobe) to 5,633 (Michael).

Also impressive is the fact another Laker sits in the top five on that list; Steve Nash. The L.A. PG is currently at #5 with 10,078 total assists.

When asked about his achievement, Kobe talked about how he understands his role on a team is to score, but also mentioned his overall drive to succeed.

“I was probably born a scorer,” Bryant said, “but made a winner.”
