A number of teams are lining up with their best offers for the possibility of trading for Minnesota Timberwolves superstar Kevin Love. While there have been conflicting reports regarding Love’s availability, it is almost a foregone conclusion that Love will not stay with Minnesota after this season.

One team believed to be in the running for Love’s services is the Houston Rockets. General manager Daryl Morey is one of the best in the NBA and the Rockets always seem to have assets to pull off something. However, USA Today’s Sam Amick reports that the Rockets may be bowing out of the Love sweepstakes:

On the Kevin Love front, I'm told the Houston Rockets are pretty sure they're outgunned in terms of having the assets that Minnesota wants.

The Rockets are armed with two big expiring contracts in Jeremy Lin and Omer Asik, as well as Chandler Parsons who they could use in a sign-and trade, but apparently that is not enough compared to some of the other offers.

The Lakers are in the same predicament at this time, possessing only their first round draft pick this year and an otherwise empty roster. The Lakers best chance of landing Love seems to be getting him in free agency next summer.

There are a number of teams who have multiple draft picks and/or good young talent who are believed to be possibilities for Love to land in a trade. The Sacramento Kings, Boston Celtics, and Phoenix Suns have all been rumored to have interest in Love.
