As the draft draws near, trade rumors continue to fly around the NBA, none bigger than those surrounding Minnesota Timberwolves superstar Kevin Love.

Many teams were floated as possible destinations with the Boston Celtics seemingly emerging with the best trade package, but Mychal Thompson heard from his source that Love could be heading to Oakland as he revealed on ESPN LA 710:

Klay, David Lee and a future first is what I’m hearing from a very reliable source, for the Kevins, Love and Martin, coming back to Golden State.

This would be an absolutely blockbuster trade if it were to go through for both sides. Teaming up Kevin Love with Stephen Curry in Golden State would have to vault them near the top of Western Conference contenders.

For the Timberwolves, they could hardly ask for anything more in a trade for their superstar. A young building block in Klay Thompson, a great replacement for Love in David Lee as well as a future first round pick.

This deal would also be a huge blow to the Lakers. Going to a contender like the Warriors makes it more likely that Love would opt-in or sign an extension with them, meaning one of the Lakers prime free agent targets could be off the market.

The Lakers are sure to have a Plan B ready in case that happens, but with the Warriors roster and situation settled, it wouldn’t be a surprise if Love decided to stay in Golden State should he be traded there.
