Ever since joining the Los Angeles Lakers, Nick Young has become a fan favorite mainly due to his personality and unquestioned confidence on and off the court. With Kobe Bryant sidelined last season with injury, Young’s ability to score became a welcomed need.

Young’s bravado came out once again during the team’s scrimmage Thursday. With Bryant guarding him, Young engaged in a little trash talking by mentioning how unstoppable he is, according to Mike Bresnahan of the Los Angeles Times:
Epic trash talk between Kobe and Nick Young at practice. Young to Kobe: "Nobody in the world can guard me. Nobody!"

Having Bryant back in the lineup has meant a lot for Young who grew up admiring his game. Young has taken the opportunity to learn from one his heroes and taken pleasure in competing against Bryant in practice.
Despite his bold proclamation, Young’s second unit team lost to Bryant’s by wide margin. As a result, Bryant appeared unhappy even issuing an explicit laden statement after practice. With the team struggling this season, Bryant questioned the team’s drive and performance.
With the team as a whole struggling, Bryant possibly felt the need to light a fire within his teammates. After 22 games, the Lakers have only won six with head coach Byron Scott already making changes to the starting lineup.
For the most part, Young has done his part as the team’s second leading scorer with 14.6 points per game. Young also missed the first ten games of the season while recovering from a torn ligament on his shooting hand. As the season progresses, Young and the rest of the of the Lakers are seeking for ways to improve.
