Phoenix Suns Acquire Guard Brandon Knight From Milwaukee Bucks

The Phoenix Suns were extremely busy at the NBA trade deadline on Thursday making two major moves. The first move was sent Goran Dragic to the Miami Heat and the second was bringing in his replacement.

According to Adrian Wojnarowksi of Yahoo Sports, the Suns have acquired Brandon Knight from the Milwaukee Bucks:

With the Suns sending Dragic to Miami, the consensus seemed to be that Isaiah Thomas and Eric Bledsoe would simply stay in Phoenix long-term. Both players have played well for the Suns and shown they’re capable of being worth the money invested.

Although Thomas signed a four-year deal this summer, the Suns decided to ship him elsewhere as well. Thomas was dealt to the Boston Celtics shortly after Dragic and Knight trades were official.

As a part of the Knight trade, the Bucks have received Michael Carter-Williams from the Philadelphia 76ers and two players from Phoenix, via Wojnarowski:

It’ll be interesting to see how this all pans out for the teams involved. A lot of moving parts with this deals from teams that didn’t necessarily need to make moves. The Celtics and 76ers aren’t going anywhere this season, but Milwaukee and Phoenix appear to be playoff bound.

Regardless of the deals made, the Bucks and Suns are still in a good position to clinch playoff spots. Knight and Carter-Williams are solid additions to the backcourt for both teams.
