Free agency officially began Sunday night and there was plenty of activity in Laker land. The team expressed interest in numerous perimeter players including former Laker, Jordan Farmar and LA native, Nick Young.

The biggest story surrounding free agency is obviously the future of Dwight Howard in a Lakers uniform. With Houston being the first of five teams to sell their pitch on Sunday night, Ryan Hurst of RHurst Designs released an impressive Photoshopped image of Howard in different uniforms.

Here’s a picture of Dwight in a Lakers, Hawks, Warriors, Rockets and Mavericks uniform:

It’s pretty obvious that Howard looks best in the purple and gold.

Although Dwight and the Rockets met for three hours, Lakers General Manager, Mitch Kupchak took it upon himself to be the first to meet Howard after free agency started at 9:01 p.m. PST.

The Lakers are expected to meet with Howard this Tuesday with the assistance of Kobe Bryant, Steve Nash, and most likely, some Laker legends. While people believe Houston are the frontrunners, the Lakers remain optimistic and have a few surprises for the All-Star center.

Despite offseason back surgery, Dwight Howard returned much earlier than expected and averaged 17.1 points, 12.4 rebounds, and 2.4 blocks. He performed well after the All-Star break and helped the Lakers reach the playoffs after starting the season 17-25.
