Poll Results: Lakers Must Stop LeBron James to Beat the Heat

With the Lakers and Heat set to square off at Staples Center on Sunday afternoon fans in L.A. are anxious for the action. The Heat are one of the toughest teams in the NBA, and with a record of 28-8 are the second highest seed in the Eastern Conference.

The Lakers have won their first two games since the All-Star break, but there’s no question the Heat will be their biggest challenge yet.

Miami brings three of the biggest stars in the league to Staples Center in the form of LeBron James, Chris Bosh and Dwyane Wade. Stopping all three of these players is nearly impossible, but the Lakers will have to limit their production if they want to get a win.

So, who do the Lakers need to focus on defensively? According to the fans of Lakers Nation’s Facebook page the Lakers should focus their defensive efforts on James.

The results were quite telling. Out of over 1,700 voting participants, 1,400 of them believe that the key to victory for Los Angeles will be to stop LeBron James. Only 240 voters believe stopping Dwyane Wade should be the Lakers’ priority, and just 50 stated that Bosh is the key for Miami.

Regardless, the Lakers will have to bring a strong defensive effort against all three of Miami’s key players if they want to get a victory.
