Robert Sacre Talks About His Unique Dance Moves

NBA: Preseason-Portland Trail Blazers at Los Angeles LakersThe Los Angeles Lakers are not having a very successful season and they are currently sitting below .500 with a 15-16 record. Not many people expected the Lakers to be in this position and there is no doubt the Lakers are not the team we predicted they would be.

However, despite the troubles the Lakers have on the court, rookie Robert Sacre seems to be enjoying himself on the bench. The rookie center is constantly cheering on his teammates from the sidelines, and he has been dubbed the team’s “cheerleader.”

Sacre spoke to the Los Angeles Times and he talked about his unique dance moves. Sacre gave a little insight as to how he learned those steps and what motivates him to entertain on the bench.

“Right from Game 1, I think people started being like, ‘What are you doing?’ ” Sacre said. “I really was just like, ‘I’m just having fun.’”

Where did Sacre get his moves?

“I learned a little bit from Yosemite Sam,” he said, referring to the cartoon outlaw from “Looney Tunes.” “He has those guns shooting up in the air, but other than that, really I just freestyle and go with it and get super excited when they make a great play.”

Many people have compared Sacre to former Laker Ronny Turiaf, as both players made a name for themselves less for their dance moves on the sidelines rather than their play. Every team needs a player like Sacre, as he is someone who keeps the morale high during a game no matter what happens on the court.
