The Lakers are coming off the largest loss in franchise history after falling to their Staples Center co-tenants, the Los Angeles Clippers. After the game, Lakers forward Wesley Johnson expressed his desire for the team to use the result as motivation. The Lakers will have that opportunity tonight when they go on the road to take on the Denver Nuggets.

The Nuggets themselves have been struggling lately as well, having lost 12 of their last 14. Despite their recent problems, Denver still poses a challenge for the Lakers. Denver also likes to play a fast-paced style of basketball and averages 99.8 possessions a game. The Lakers will be playing the second game of a back-to-back at the Pepsi Center. The Nuggets are going to be looking to run in Friday’s game, and the Lakers are going to have to be ready to match up if they want to get over Thursday night’s devastating loss.

There are 20 games left in the season for the Lakers, and the majority of the roster are playing for their next contracts. The remaining games, starting with tonight, will serve as barometer of how much heart the Lakers have.

Chris Paul said fans were yelling to him: "It's still a Laker town!" Looking ahead to other goals, CP shrugged and said: "It is. No secret."

Would love to believe Phil is leveraging NYK FO interest to maybe move the Lakers, and that it might actually work. Skeptical, though. BK
