Reactions to the Lakers 112-57 win vs. the Cavaliers

The Los Angeles Lakers started the game extremely focused and they opened up a double-digit lead in the first quarter.  The Lakers continued to overwhelm the Cavaliers with their size and talent, and the outcome was decided well before half-time. Even LeBron James had something to say after the Lakers threw down the gauntlet on his former team. His tweet last-night is floating around the Web. [Twitter: KingJames]

The Los Angeles Lakers set a franchise record last night, when they held the Cleveland Cavaliers to 57 points.  The 55-point win, 112-57, was the Lakers’ third-largest margin of victory since the franchise moved to Los Angeles. [OC Register: Kevin Ding]

The Lakers played a well-rounded game, and every player on the team took at least one shot.  The Lakers stepped up their defensive intensity, and they wanted to limit the Cavs to the fewest points possible.  Unlike many games this season, the Lakers maintained their energy for the entire 48 minutes.  [Los Angeles Times Lakers Blog: Mark Medina]

Words cannot describe the Lakers domination over the lowly Cleveland Cavaliers.  The Lakers set a franchise-record for fewest points allowed, 57,  and the game was essentially over at the end of the opening period.  The Lakers’ defense was extraordinary, and the Cavs were having trouble finding an open look.  In last night’s game, the Cleveland Cavaliers resembled a bunch of 8-year olds going up against a varsity team. [Los Angeles Times: Mike Bresnahan]
