‘The Ball Prophecy: Rise Of The Lakers’ Lonzo Ball Hype Video

NBA 2K’s Chris Manning recently created a hype video surrounding Ball, titled “The Ball Prophecy: Rise of the Lakers,” chronicling the Ball’s path to joining the Los Angeles Lakers historic organization.

The Lakers drafted their point guard of the future in the 2017 NBA Draft, selecting UCLA point guard Lonzo Ball with the second overall pick.

There are already hefty expectations for Ball, as Lakers president of basketball operations Magic Johnson called him the new face of the franchise and visioned his No. 2 jersey being put up on the wall with all the other Laker greats at his introductory press conference on Friday.

If anyone is up for the challenge though it is Ball, as he has had high expectations surrounding him since he led Chino Hills High School to a state championship. He also turned around a UCLA program, leading them to a 31-6 record and an appearance in the Sweet 16 after the Bruins went just 15-17 and missed the tournament the year before.

Ball led the nation in assists in his lone season at UCLA, averaging 7.6 to go along with 6.0 rebounds and 14.6 points while shooting 55.1 percent from the field and 41.2 percent from three-point range.

With the Lakers currently suffering through one of their lowest points in franchise history, missing the playoffs for the fourth consecutive season, they will look to Ball to help turn that around.

Ball’s Lakers career will begin in just a few weeks, as he will take the court in Las Vegas with the Lakers Summer League team beginning on July 7.
