The Mask of the Masked Mamba fetches $67,100 for Charity

Arguably the most famous mask in NBA history is now making history of it’s own by generating over $67,000 dollars for the Kobe and Vanessa Bryant Foundation.

The mask, which was put up for sale on eBay last week, made nearly $70,000. After Dwyane Wade broke Kobe’s nose in the All-Star Game, Bryant was forced to wear a mask for 11 games to allow his nose to heal.

All proceeds will be used to benefit the Kobe and Vanessa Bryant Family Foundation’s Youth Homelessness Initiative. The primary goal of the foundation is to have a considerable, positive impact on the issue of youth homelessness in Los Angeles.

The opening bid for Bryant’s mask was $250, but obviously sold for a much higher amount.
