TWITTER: Ed Davis Informs Charles Barkley He Can End His Hunger Strike

The Los Angeles Lakers were one of two teams remaining in the NBA without a victory this season, along with the Philadelphia 76ers. The Lakers, however, are still a fixture on national TV, much to the chagrin of NBA analyst Charles Barkley.

Last Thursday, Barkley said that he wouldn’t eat until the Lakers won a game. After the Lakers picked up their first victory of the season by defeating the Charlotte Hornets, Ed Davis went to Twitter to inform Barkley that he could end his hunger strike:

Davis likely isn’t the Lakers player most would assume to say something like this as Kobe Bryant is the man with the reputation of saying things to media members. But Davis undoubtedly endeared himself to Lakers fans with this tweet.

Barkley hasn’t had the kindest things to say in regards to the Lakers recently, saying the team won’t make the playoffs and calling the head coaching position a ‘bad job.’ Barkley is one of the most outspoken media members in any sport and is known for saying whatever he wants and Davis returned the favor.

For his part, Davis has been one of the most consistent Lakers so far this season. He came into Sunday’s contest averaging 10 points and seven rebounds on 67 percent shooting and helped his numbers out again with a 10-point, five rebound performance on 5-5 from the field.

Now all is right in the world as the Lakers are in the win column, and Charles Barkley can eat again.
