After the game, Byron Scott had nothing but praise for his former point guard, calling him the best leader and point guard in the game.

He’s the best leader to me in this league,” Scott said of Paul, whom he coached in New Orleans. “He orchestrated it on the offensive end, he does the same thing on the defensive end, he’s a head of a snake in that department as well. His communication skills are unbelievable. I’m a little biased, but I think he’s the best point guard in the league.”

Before the game, Scott said going up against Paul would be a great challenge and learning opportunity for rookie Jordan Clarkson. Clarkson felt the challenge, as he was limited to just two points and three assists to go along with two turnovers in his 26 minutes.

After the game, Scott said this would be great tape for Clarkson to study and hopefully he can improve in a few aspects when they get another crack at the Clippers on Tuesday night. Clarkson agreed, saying he’s looking forward to improving on Tuesday after studying film of Sunday’s game.
