Newest Houston Rockets center Dwight Howard became the first big name free agent to ever willingly leave the Los Angeles Lakers, something that shocked everyone in the basketball world.

Howard was looked at as the future of the Lakers when he first joined the team, and the front office was hoping he would be the face of the franchise. However, the big man believed his career would be better off in Houston, and he is expecting to build a championship contender with James Harden.
Howard recently sat down with ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith, and in part two of the interview (seen below), the center talked about his relationship with Kobe Bryant. Although Howard admitted that playing with Bryant was tough because of his penchant to score, he said that did not play a role in his decision to leave L.A. Howard also touched upon the Lakers’ choice not to hire Phil Jackson and the influence that made on his departure.
