Video: Former Laker Lamar Odom Eyeing Return To The NBA
Lamar

Amongst the madness surrounding the struggling Los Angeles Lakers last season, the team, as well as the league, was provided with some perspective on how quickly things can turn downhill after an incident that left former Laker Lamar Odom hanging on for dear life back in October of 2015.

It has been nearly a year since the incident, and now the 2011 Sixth Man of the Year is beginning to look like his former self after posting videos of his workouts with Real Deal Fitness Gym on Instagram:

Odom made his intentions of an NBA comeback clear back in late March when returned to the Staples Center for the first time since that near-fatal night to watch the Kobe and the Lakers take down the Miami Heat in overtime.

While there has yet to be any reported rumors about teams possibly interested Odom’s services, the two-time champ is still confident he can ball with the best of them. Odom was invited by former NBA star Baron Davis to play with his Drew League team here in Los Angeles.

Whether or not Odom can actually make a successful comeback remains to be seen, however. At 36 years old, he likely doesn’t have many years left where he could conceivably contribute at an NBA level. Of course, Odom’s style doesn’t necessarily rely on speed and athleticism.

It is admirable that Odom has recovered and is looking to make a return to the game he loves. Hopefully he is successful in that venture, but only time will tell.
