The Los Angeles Lakers point guard traveled to upstate New York to celebrate Chinese New Year with friends and family where he also found time to support a major cause.

In a friendly meeting, Lin and his companions exchanged food and gifts, representative of the holiday, with homeless people while hearing about their personal stories, saying that learning a person’s story can help you sympathize with them instead of judging them. Here is the video:
While the Lakers couldn’t continue their winning streak, Lin said that he feels more a part of the team now as he plays regularly and is included in the rotation. Despite not moving onto the playoffs, he said he “wants to emerge as somebody who is taking his performance to the next level.”
