During last night’s loss to the Denver Nuggets in Game 6, Kobe Bryant committed a hard foul on Nuggets forward Kenneth Faried. The foul was called a flagrant-1 by the officials.

Here’s video of the foul if you missed it.

After the game, Bryant was asked about the foul, and whether or not it was frustration that caused him to commit the hard foul. Honestly, it didn’t look like there was any ill-intent at all, as Bryant was clearly going for the ball.

However, due to the situation – meaning the Lakers down big and the team obviously frustrated, the officials labeled it a flagrant, most likely to try and diffuse a more extreme situation from arising.
