Kobe PracticeWhen Kobe Bryant created a twitter page, no one could have guessed that he would immediately become one of the most important people to follow on the social media website. Sure he is popular, but most superstars rarely tweet and when they do it’s nothing important.

Kobe Bryant, however, is not every other superstar and he has consistently created headlines with his Twitter activity. The latest question people have had with Kobe’s Twitter is his avatar which simply reads ‘1225.’ Most people believe that has to do with the Lakers being picked to finish 12th in the West while Kobe was rated the 25th best player in the NBA by ESPN. On the ‘Connected With…Kobe Bryant’ special on Time Warner Cable Sportsnet however, Kobe revealed the reason for his avatar:

Christmas has always been a good holiday. The city of Los Angeles and Laker fans and everybody’s kind of waiting to see how I’m going to return…I think there’s nervousness and anxiousness to see how I’m going to play when I come back.

It seems like that may actually be a target date for Kobe’s return which has to be a shot in the stomach for Laker fans as the Lakers could be well behind the class of the Western Conference by that time without Kobe in uniform. Then again, Kobe told our Lakers Nation reporter Serena Winters, earlier this month, that “1225” was his “pet’s birthday.”

Kobe has continually spoken about getting back on the court as soon as possible and anyone with Kobe’s drive is going to do everything he can to be back before anyone thinks is possible. While he has stated the need to get back in shape, he has had to scale back his workouts recently and at this point, no one knows when he will be back.

Of course Kobe also loves to get motivation from anywhere and this could all just be a little game he has decided to play with the media. With Kobe, you’re never quite sure. Check the video below.
