Did you know that Los Angeles Lakers guard Kobe Bryant can speak multiple languages, including Italian and Spanish? Bryant was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania but when his father moved the family abroad to continue playing professional basketball, Bryant spent about seven years of his childhood in Italy. At six years old, Bryant began his new lifestyle, which included picking up both Italian and Spanish.

As seen in the video above, at 36 years old, Bryant is still fluent in Italian. Bryant chats with the Italian media about how he’s feeling physically since his rotator cuff surgery and the significance of accepting the Bill Sharman Humanitarian award at The Toberman Neighborhood Center gala.
