The Los Angeles Lakers kept it interesting on Sunday night against the Atlanta Hawks, but ultimately came up short 91-86, despite the Hawks sitting Austin Daye, Paul Millsap, and Jeff Teague.
Lakers rookie Jabari Brown who signed a 10-day contract last Tuesday followed up a solid debut on Thursday night against the Knicks with another impressive performance on Sunday. Brown scored nine points on 4-5 shooting, and hit his first four shots from the field in the Lakers loss to the Hawks.

After the game, Lakers head coach Byron Scott said he believes Brown belongs in the NBA.
I think Jabari is one of those guys, probably [in the] next year or so, is going to belong in this league,” Scott said of the rookie. “He guards people, tough kid, offensively takes what you give him. Makes good decisions too. I think he has a place in this league.”
In our video above, Brown reacts to Scott’s compliment and discusses what he’s hoping to prove to the Lakers front office. In his first two NBA games, Brown is now averaging 8.0 points per game on 7-11 shooting.
Brown returns to his hometown tomorrow night when the Lakers face the Golden State Warriors.
