On Tuesday, Los Angeles Lakers rookie Julius Randle spoke to the media for the first time since fracturing his leg in the Lakers season opener against the Houston Rockets, exactly one week ago.

In the video above, Randle talks about the range of emotions going through his mind the night he was rolled off the court, cradling his leg on a stretcher. The 19-year-old talks about the advice his mentor Kobe Bryant has given to him and how Bryant was one of the main people that assisted in getting him out of his “pity party.”
