The Los Angeles Lakers were able to help their scoring punch and backcourt depth by bringing in reigning Sixth Man of the Year, Lou Williams. A combo guard who can score as well as anybody, Williams will some veteran leadership to the young duo of Jordan Clarkson and D’Angelo Russell.

After being introduced by the team on Wednesday, Williams sat down with Dave Miller on Time Warner Cable SportsNet and spoke about his sixth man role and playing in the Western Conference for the first time in his career.

Williams said he embraces his role off the bench because he is comfortable with who he is and doesn’t envy anyone else’s situation. He also compared this guard situation with the one he encountered in his early years with the Philadelphia 76ers noting that they also had a good combination of young and veteran guards.

This is the first time that Williams has played with has played in the West and he is looking forward to playing to playing against the best guards in the NBA three to four times a year. With Williams here to team with Russell and Clarkson, the Lakers backcourt has a ton of potential.
