VIDEO: Murray State’s Cameron Payne After Lakers Draft Workout

The Los Angeles Lakers worked out Cameron Payne, 6’0 3/4″ point guard out of Murray State on Tuesday afternoon, who many project to be drafted in the mid-first round.

With the Lakers draft picks at 27 and 34, it’s possible but unlikely Payne would drop to that low on the draft board; however, the Lakers could attempt to package the 27th and 34th picks to move up in the draft.

Payne played two seasons at Murray State and was the recipient of the 2015 Lute Olson Award, which is presented annually to the nation’s top Division I player who has played at least two seasons. Murray averaged 18.5 points, 5.7 assists, and 1.8 steals while playing 32.4 minutes per game in his two collegiate seasons.

In his interview above, Payne says his favorite player is Kobe Bryant and he’s modeled parts of his game after Tony Parker, specifically his floater.
