The Los Angeles Lakers introduced Roy Hibbert on Wednesday afternoon, after acquiring him from the Indiana Pacers where he spent the past seven seasons. Selected to the NBA All-Defensive Second Team in 2014, Hibbert is striving to get back to what made him so successful in previous seasons.

Lakers Nation caught up with Hibbert after his official press conference to get to know the two-time All-Star center, that will be locking down the paint for the purple and gold this upcoming season.

From talking about his former love of AOL Instant Messenger (including a hilarious AIM screen name that we give Hibbert serious props for sharing with us) to watching samurai movies with legend Kareem-Abdul Jabbar, Hibbert shows his light-hearted personality.

Of course, Hibbert also chats basketball, including what it was like to work with Kareem, his four-year collegiate athlete experience and what he’s hoping to relay to the young Lakers core. That, and more in our interview above.
