The Los Angeles Lakers hosted Steve Nash’s retirement press conference at the Toyota Sports Center on Tuesday afternoon. Nash opened the conference by thanking the Buss family and the entire organization for their unwavering support in Los Angeles.
I was treated incredibly in my time here, unparalleled level of support. I’ll forever be grateful for that,” Nash said on Tuesday. “I’ve never wanted something more and I’ve never worked harder and it just wasn’t meant to be.”
In our videos, Nash addresses the disappointment of not winning a championship to end his career, but at the same time, being at peace with knowing he left everything he had out on the court. Nash discusses what he hopes to be remembered for and what it is about his story that kids can relate to.

Additionally, Nash admits that he probably “held on” to his career for too long, and likely over-trained while trying to prolong his career.
